Tilily
at The Royal Armoury Museum in Leeds
Following
her disappointment of not being able to attend the Leeds Musical
Festival (due to her lost entrance ticket) Tilily visits The
Royal Armoury Museum situated nearby. This award winning museum
was opened in 1996 to house the National Collection of arms
and armour (most of which had originally been in The Tower
of London) and includes items from the Dark Ages to the present
day, spanning over 3000 years. Actors in costumes are used
to demonstrate various aspects of the collection and during
the summer months there are demonstrations of jousting, falconry
and horsemanship.

Great! |
Help! Rescue me! |
NOT a human cannon ball???
'Bottoms-up!'
Jousting? Looks more like 'Round and round the Mulberry Bush'
to me! |
Mind you don't shoot me!
'Honest, it wasn't me!'
Anyone for Draughts?
Wouldn't like to meet this Japanese Warrior in battle!
Read this, then see the next photo.
I really want to make one of those little cranes!
Mind me!
I've got you in my sights!
Higher! Still can't quite reach.
Wow, all those weapons!
Tilily,it says don't touch the exhibits.
Shop 'til you drop!
Did I say that?
Money well spent!
...and serenaded too!
Look what I have found!
Poor Diana.
Why won't this rope go round properly?
Got anything bigger?
Now, that's more like it!
Doing a bit of drawing ... ...and colouring at the Sasha desk.

Tilily
visits Little Moreton Hall
Little
Moreton Hall is a 15th century Tudor Manor House in Cheshire
and is one of the finest and best known timber framed buildings
in England. A Grade I listed house, made traditionally from
Oak and wattle, which rambles around three sides of a cobbled
courtyard and is completely surrounded by a freshwater moat,
in which ducks and fish swim. At the back you can see flower
beds in their original planting, a clipped Knot garden and
an orchard. A third storey extension, a long gallery where
the ladies could take their exercise in the bad weather, was
added later and it's this roof's heavy slate tiles that has
caused the front of the structure to bow.
This pram is just the right size for me.
Looks very wobbley to me.
Do you think it might fall down?
